Mission:

Manson Mesa is an alternative school whose mission is to create a small individualized learning environment to support students behind in credits.

Vision:

MMHS students will be prepared for their post-secondary life where they will be productive and contributing members of society.

Back to School Message:

Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year! Manson Mesa High School continues to be a “school of opportunity” where our dedicated staff work with students on their individualized paths to graduation.

We believe all students have a right to an education that will prepare them for post-secondary life, and we recognize that not all students learn in the same way or at the same time. To meet the needs of our students, we use an accredited online learning platform, and we keep our classes small.

This year, students at Manson Mesa High School will take courses in Edgenuity. The courses are built using an instructional model grounded in research and aligned to the Arizona state-standards. Students can move at their own pace, and may access assigned courses at any time online. Once a course is complete, a new course will be assigned.

In addition to Edgenuity, we have a highly qualified math, language arts, and Navajo Language and Culture teacher who work directly with our students to support them in their learning. Our low student to teacher ratio facilitates a more personalized learning environment.

Our vision is for Manson Mesa students to be prepared for their postsecondary life where they will be productive and contributing members of society. We believe that social emotional learning can have a positive impact on students. This year, our students will have access to Coping and Support Training, an evidence based program supported by Native Americans for Community Action. This program combines skills training in small groups (6-8 students), where students work together to learn and practice skills to enhance self-esteem, positive decision making, anger management, and coping and help seeking behaviors.

In our positive, supportive learning environment, every student is valued and treated as an individual.

We are excited for this year’s learning to begin!

Sincerely,
Mary Stahl
